Martha L. "Patty" Burke

Martha L. “Patty” Burke, 70, resident of Temple, NH, died peacefully October 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH surrounded by her family. She was born in Paterson, NJ, February 10, 1947, a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Margaret N. (Hansen) Burke. Patty was raised and educated in Oakland, NJ. She graduated from Ramapo Regional High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ Class of 1965. She moved to New Hampshire in 1975 and lived in Lyndeborough for more than 20 years and made her home in Temple, NH for the last 9 years. She started her retail career at Gimbels Department Store and later worked for Filenes for over 20 years. Patty had a passion for doll collecting and attended many doll shows throughout the years. She also loved going to lunch with her friends. She was devoted to her two beloved dogs, Honeybun and Maise. Family members include a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Paul VanBlarigan of Hollis, NH; a niece, Amy Carlson and her husband Ben of Deerfield, NH; two nephews, Paul VanBlarigan Jr. and his wife Theresa of Wilton, NH, Jim and Holly VanBlarigan of Milford, NH; 8 great nieces and great nephews, Jake and Allison Carlson, Stephanie, Paul III and Maddy VanBlarigan, Sebastian, Kaylie and Cora VanBlarigan. She is also survived by many cousins and many friends. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 14th at 10:00am in the Church of Our Saviour, 10 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Patterson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Temple Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 80, Temple, NH 03084.
