Mark S. Mcgovern

Mark S. McGovern, 73, resident of Amherst, NH, died on September 21, 2023, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH.

He was born on October 12, 1949, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Kinsella) McGovern. Mark was raised and educated in Somerville, MA, and graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1968.

Mark was a US Army Veteran, serving as a military intelligence agent from 1970-1972.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Martin McGovern.

Family members include his loving wife, Pamela (Dupuis) McGovern of Amherst, NH; a son, Jeffrey T. McGovern and his significant other, Madeleine Wells-Bogue of Amherst, NH; siblings, Susan Dove and her husband Nicholas Dove of Bermuda, John McGovern and his wife Arlene McGovern of Thornton, NH, Mary Anne Quinn and her husband Jeremy Quinn of Hamilton, MA, Christopher McGovern and his wife Patricia McGovern of Hampstead, NH and David McGovern and his wife Laura McGovern of Reading, MA, his sister-in-law, Elaine McGovern of Belmont, MA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Amherst Congregational Church, 11 Church Street, Amherst, NH. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, NH.
