Marjorie K. Medlyn

Marjorie K. “Marge” Medlyn, 94, lifelong resident of Milford, NH died on November 1, 2017 at Ledgewood Bay, Milford. She was born in Milford on July 17, 1923, a daughter of Lee S. and Sara (White) Kendall. Marjorie graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1941 and Mount Auburn Hospital School of Nursing, Cambridge, MA. Marge spent her nursing career employed for Nashua Pediatrics for 24 years. She enjoyed camping, golfing, swimming, gardening, traveling and most especially loved spending time with her family. She served in the U.S. Army Nurses Corp during World War II and was discharged in 1946 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. In addition, Marge was a member of Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23, American Legion Auxiliary, Milford and the First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest J. Medlyn; a sister, Barbara Draper Ryan and a brother, Robert Kendall. Family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Gary Atwood of Wilton, NH; two grandchildren and a great granddaughter, Jodi Costain and her husband, Brian and their daughter, Teagan, and James Atwood, all of Milford; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Medlyn of Milford, NH and Clara Kendall of Hernando, FL; many nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 7th at 1:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford.
