Marion Milam Scott-Kasper, 63, of Milford, died on July 20th at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in Nashua, after a long battle with breast cancer. Marion, known to most as Mimi, was a native of Vermont. She was born in Burlington, Vermont, the third of four daughters of John and Caroline (Anderson) Scott. She was raised in Waterbury, Vermont, and graduated from Harwood Union High School in Moretown. She attended Lyndon State College. In 1980, she married Joseph Kasper, of Milford, Connecticut. They lived in Orleans MA, Somerville MA, and later settled in Milford NH, where they raised their family. Mimi had many talents. She was a dedicated wife and mother and excelled in cooking and sewing. She was known for her fine voice and sang with the local classic rock band, Cider Press, along with her husband Joe, a keyboardist. She worked part-time from 1985 to 2005 as a copy editor and layout artist for the Milford Cabinet. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Milford. In 2009, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the last four years were remarkable for the spirit she showed as she struggled with the disease. She is survived by her husband Joe, son Seth of Cambridge, Massachusetts, daughter Margaret of Peterborough, New Hampshire, and three sisters: Carol Cook, Jean Scott, and Trudy Scott. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 2:00 pm in The First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC, 10 Union Street, Milford. A reception will be held following the service.
