Marion L. (Nichols) Holt

Marion L. (Nichols) Holt, 77, resident of Tavares, Florida, died March 24, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH. She was born in Lynn, MA on August 23, 1931, a daughter of the late Mendell & Violet (Davis) Nichols. She was raised and educated in Lynn, MA and attended nursing school in Nashua, NH. Mrs. Holt resided in Florida for the past 15 years and formerly lived in Nashua, Bedford and Amherst, NH and summered at Lake Winnipesaukee. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a nurse and later in the software technology industry. Mrs. Holt loved to cook and enjoyed arts, crafts, needlepoint and cross- stitch. In addition, she was an avid reader, liked solving crossword puzzles and brain teasers. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Holt was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Holt, her infant son, Richard Duane; and a sister, Lorraine Dugas. Family members include her husband of 54 years, Calvin H. Holt; two daughters, Deborah A. Trottier and her husband, Dave of Milford, NH, Lynn Holt of Milford, NH; a son, Richard D. Holt and his wife, Carolyn of Kensington, NH; five grandchildren, Robert and Sam Goinsalvos, Tim, Diane and Sarah Holt; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Drew Goinsalvos; a brother, Grant Nichols and his wife, Ann of Ashland, NH; a brother-in-law, Robert Dugas of Lynn, MA; many nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4th at 2:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.
