Marilyn M. Smith, 87, longtime resident of Natick, MA died on March 31, 2014 at Oak Knoll Healthcare Center, Framingham, MA. She was born in Boston, MA on January 11, 1927, a daughter of Clinton R. and Mabel (Curtis) Smith. Marilyn was raised and educated in Dorchester, MA and graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls. She had been employed as an office clerk for Kendall Corporation, Wellesley, MA. Mrs. Smith was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious apple pies. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of Community United Methodist Church, Wayland, MA and a member of the Women’s Group. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband of almost 65 years, Rolfe H. Smith, who died in 2012. Family members include a daughter, Louise C. Callahan of Milford, NH; three sons, Edward D. Smith and his wife, Wendy of Hillsborough, NH, Glenn H. Smith of Millis, MA, Barry W. Smith of Natick, MA; ten grandchildren, who she found great joy in spending time with; Shawna, Catherine, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Nicole, Sarah, Jonathan, Andrew, Katlyn and Jennifer. She especially enjoyed being surrounded by her seven great-grandchildren, Teresa, Vinny, Joey, Tyler, Autumn, Ava and Rebekah; a sister, Shirley Larson of Orlando, FL; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louise Barrar of Sarasota, FL, Marjorie and William Tomer of Vero Beach, FL and Harry Terp of S. Dennis, MA; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on April 26th at 2:00 pm in the Community United Methodist Church, 5 Damon Street, Wayland, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the church.
