Marie L. Toomey

Marie L. “MaryLou” Toomey, 85, resident of Danbury, NH, died on February 25, 2015 at Franklin Regional Hospital, Franklin, NH. She was born in Arlington, MA on September 21, 1929, a daughter of Ernesto and Catherine (Giannetti) Marchi. She was raised and educated in Arlington, MA and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Lesley College, Cambridge, MA. Mrs. Toomey had resided in Danbury for more than 20 years, and formerly made her home in Lyndeborough, NH for many years. She was a school teacher at Florence Rideout Elementary School in Wilton, NH, where she taught for 16 years. Following retirement, she had worked as a substitute teacher in Danbury schools. She enjoyed spending time antiquing. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Toomey was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence D. Toomey, and their daughter, Sharon Toomey. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sandra Toomey of Milford, NH, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Bill Labombarde of Friendship, ME, Diane and John Demello of Danbury, NH; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Marchi of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Lyndeborough, NH, in the spring.
