Marie J. Labine

Marie J. (Giroux) Labine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday afternoon April 30, 2016 in the home she shared in Milford, NH with her daughter, son-in-law and seven grandchildren. Marie was born in Chazy, NY on May 25, 1935 to Wilfred and Corine (Guay) Giroux, the seventh of eight children. She graduated from St. John’s Academy in Plattsburg, NY. In 1957 she married Henry (Hank) Labine whereupon they moved to Nashua, NH and built a life together for 52 years. Most important to Marie was her family and her Catholic faith. She spent most of her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a true home-maker loving to clean her home, especially the outside yard. When her daughter and family moved to NH to start a business, Marie stepped in and became a full-time grandmother significantly contributing to the daily life of the family. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of Catholics United for the Faith (CUF), served as a Director on the Board of Magdalen College and was a daily communicant for many years. She worked both at Nashua Corporation and Triangle Credit Union. Marie was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Henry, her brother Sarto and his wife Alma Giroux, her sister Paula Giroux, her brother Royal Giroux, her brother-in-law Victor Fisher and sisters-in-law Delores Giroux and Natalie (Labine) Mansfield. Her family members include daughter Michelle (Labine) Knott, son-in-law Douglas Knott and her grandchildren Stephen, Michael, Eric, Carolyn, Sarah, David and AnnaChristine Knott. Other family includes her brothers Leo and his wife Theresa Giroux and Roger Giroux, sisters Marguerite (Giroux) and husband Rodney Collins, Pauline (Giroux) Fisher, sister-in-law Anita Giroux and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Thursday, May 5th from 4-7 PM at Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH at 10 AM, Friday, May 6th. Burial will be at St. Louis de Gonzage Cemetery on West Hollis Street in Nashua immediately following the mass. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
