Marie E. Wells

Marie E. (MacDonald) Wells, died on February 11, 2023, in Concord, NH at the Granite VNA Hospice House.

She was born in Chelsea, MA on December 28, 1955, a daughter of Arthur H. and Marie Zoe (Forbes) MacDonald.

Marie was raised and educated in Hudson, NH. She was a resident of Milford, NH and more recently Bedford, NH. In addition, she also made her home in Greenville, NH for many years.

One of nine children, Marie loved time spent with her large family and trips to the beach especially Old Orchard Beach. Marie loved music especially the 60s era, baking cookies and being with family.

She had been employed at Little Arrows Day Care in Milford. Not surprising as Marie had such a love for babies and children. They brought such joy to her life. She also worked at the Dollar Tree Store.

In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her sister, Claire MacDonald Shepardson and her longtime companion, Alfred Thompson.

Family members include three children, Matthew Wells, and Leah Wells, both of Milford, NH, and Joseph Wells of Virginia ; five grandchildren; four sisters, Jane Pidhordecky of Georgia, Lois (Steve) Johnson of Wilton, NH, Christina (Daniel) Silva of Manchester, NH and her twin, Zoe (Jim) Doane of Amherst, NH; three brothers, Stephen (Linda) MacDonald of Hampstead, NH, Paul (Judy) MacDonald of Merrimack, NH and Ross MacDonald also of Merrimack; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie had a very special friendship with Alfred’s niece, Angie.

Memorial visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 17th from 12:00-2:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH at a later date.
