Margaret A. Crisman, 88, resident of Amherst, NH, died on May 28, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH. She was born in Ironton, Ohio on June 14, 1926, a daughter of James and Bess (Freeman) Dudley. She made her home in Amherst for the past 18 years and formerly lived in Hudson, NH for many years. For several years she was a secretary at Alvirne High School in Hudson. Mrs. Crisman trained at Juilliard in voice and piano and was a member of Nashua Choral Society. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, genealogy research and trips to the Amherst Library. She was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC, Nashua. Mrs. Crisman was predeceased by her husband, John C. Crisman, who died in 2005 and her grandsons, Kyle and Timothy Crisman in 2002. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Erik and Kathleen Crisman of Amherst, NH, Kirk and Polly Crisman of Mont Vernon, NH, Mark D and Peggy Crisman of Bow, NH; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila A. Crisman of Claremont, NH, Sue E. and Gary Slamin of Francestown, NH; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Monday, June 1st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd at 10:00 a.m. in the Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC, 4 Watson Street, Nashua, NH. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Amherst Town Library, 14 Main Street, Amherst, NH 03031 or Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC, 4 Watson Street, Nashua, NH 03064.
