Marcie Marion Kearns

Marion (Marcie) Marcel Kearns, 58, of Wilton, NH and Beverly, MA, died January 8, 2016 after a prolonged illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY, Marcie was valedictorian at Broadalbin High School, received an undergraduate degree from Boston College, earned a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University, and a Master’s Degree in Tax Law from Boston University. Daughter of the late Dr. Richard and Marion Kearns of Broadalbin NY, she is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years, Matthew Bangert. Marcie also leaves behind her siblings Pam Terlaak-Poot, John Kearns, Ingrid Petoff, Claudia Kearns, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Shanley Murray and nephew Bryan Murray. Professionally, Marcie most enjoyed applying her training and practical sensibilities towards serving her clients legal needs and was a founding partner of Koski & Kearns of Boston and Beverly Farms, MA. Drawn to the New England coast, she and Matt settled in Beverly, MA where they lived for over two decades, never tiring of the ocean views at Lynch Park where she spent countless hours with her adored golden retrievers. Marcie was known for her genuine and abiding kindness; there wasn’t a person she met that didn’t feel her warmth and gracious spirit. She was a gifted pianist. Marcie had a natural sense of style and a particular affinity for shoes – the receipts for which she hid from her husband. An avid Patriots fan, she read the entire Wells, Exponent and American Enterprise Institute reports, and all judicial rulings related to Deflate Gate, confirming that Tom Brady was of course, innocent. Marcie took good care to find the joy in every day of her life. She relished her time on Martha's Vineyard where she and Matt were married and vacationed each summer with dear friends. The Bangert home was always a special place for holiday gatherings where family and friends surrounded the dining table enjoying Marcie and Matt’s gracious hospitality. She was civic minded and active in her community and was recently elected to the Wilton Town Planning Board. Marcie was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church Street, Peterborough, NH on Saturday, January 23rd at 11:00 AM. (** GPS USERS - use 161 Wilton Road as 12 Church Street is not yet recognized by web maps). Interment will take place in the spring at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin, NY.
