Marcia Shipley

Marcia Shipley, 78, resident of Milford, NH, died August 24, 2010 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. She was born in Lowell, MA on May 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Clifford L. and Esther (Jacobs) Shipley. Ms. Shipley made her home in Milford for the past 15 years and formerly resided in Wilton and Nashua for many years. She had been employed by New England Telephone Company for 39 years. She was an original signer of the IBEW Union of New England Telephone and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Ms. Shipley enjoyed traveling all over the world, loved her home and spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Wilton. Ms. Shipley was predeceased by four brothers, William O. Shipley, Richard Shipley, Charles Shipley and Dr. Murray Shipley. Marcia's memory will be treasured by many whose lives she touched. Her family extends a special thank you to many friends and volunteers who helped Marcia on her journey to the next life. Family members include a brother and sister-in-law, Samuel L. and Sue Shipley of Newark, DE; a sister, Laura Buck of Nashua, NH; many nieces and nephews including her niece and great nephew, Cathy Dickerson and Rob Dickerson, with whom she made her home; and many dear friends. There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 24th at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH.
