Lyman G. Fussell, Md

Lyman G. Fussell, MD, 107, resident of Amherst, NH, died September 24, 2009 at The Elms Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Milford. He was born in Wantagh, NY on December 22, 1901, a son of the late Johnathon and Grace (Gill) Fussell. Dr. Fussell graduated from Columbia University and Cornell Medical School. He was a general practitioner in Mineola, NY for more than 50 years and the chief police surgeon for the Nassau County Police Department. For the past 17 years, he resided in Amherst, NH with his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed vacationing in the Bahamas, summering on Long Island and spending time with his family who lovingly called him �Poppa�. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (McGrath) Fussell and two sons, John L. Fussell and James D. Fussell, MD. Family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Thomas Callahan of Amherst, NH; 10 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
