Lucy S. Cheney, 96, resident of Greenville, NH, died December 30, 2010 at Crestwood Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Milford. She was born in Lyndeborough, NH on August 21, 1914, a daughter of Walter C. and Elizabeth A. (Keniston) Dunklee. Mrs. Cheney resided in Greenville for the past 23 years and formerly lived in South Lyndeborough for more than 20 years and Nashua for many years. She had been employed by Continental Homes, Nashua, NH for 16 years. Mrs. Cheney was an avid Red Sox fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank E. Cheney, who died in 1983; and four sons, Frank Dunklee, Joseph, Charles and Allen Cheney. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Nellie and Robert Huard of Greenville, NH; five sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Betty Cheney of Lakeland, FL, Richard Cheney of South Carolina, Albert Cheney and his companion, Diana of Nashua, NH, Kenneth and Diane Cheney of Milford, NH, Wayne and Amanda Cheney of Wilton, NH; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Sunday, January 2nd from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua. Donations in her memory may be made to Crestwood Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Activities Fund, 40 Crosby Street, Milford, NH 03055.
