Louise Miller Thomas Swanson

Louise Miller Thomas Swanson, resident of Amherst, New Hampshire passed away peacefully at her home on July 8th, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Swanson was born on October 13, 1937 in Durham, North Carolina. Ms. Swanson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Thomas of Durham, North Carolina, who preceded her in death. She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Jennifer Langford, son-in-law, Robert Langford and their baby, Shaina Langford. She is survived by her daughter, Mary and son-in-law, Randy Ray with whom she lived with in New Hampshire and shared many adventures such as frequent deer and bear sightings and a chipmunk named “Fred” that hosted Louise daily on her porch. She is survived by her son, William Thomas Swanson and his wife Martha Ortiz Swanson of Melbourne, Florida; a granddaughter, Amber L. Langford and a grandson, Nicholas A. Swanson, both of North Carolina. She loved her children tremendously and continued to be there for them even when she was not well. She also leaves her only sibling, Elizabeth Ann Thomas Bowen, who cherishes the outrageous, irreverent and hilarious memories Louise has made to keep her family laughing forever. Ms. Swanson graduated from Durham High School, class of 1958. She attended Flora McDonald Private School for Girls. Ms. Swanson was a 1958 Durham debutante. She retired as a Division Manager with the Internal Revenue Service in Greensboro, North Carolina. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, North Carolina on July 20th at 2:00 pm. The family requests in lieu of flowers please make a small donation to the local ASPCA in her name. “You will be forever missed and never forgotten”
