Louis A. Deberadinis

Louis Arthur “Skip” DeBeradinis 82, of Merrimack, NH and previously of Stamford, CT died on March 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 6, 1937 in Norwalk, CT and lived in Stamford, CT for 57 years. He and his wife of 61 years, Mary Louise (Wachowski), relocated to NH in 1994 in order to be near their children and grandchildren. Skip’s passion for animals when he was growing up led him to becoming a junior curator at the Stamford Museum. Much to his parents’ chagrin, he brought many four-legged (and no legged!) pets home. While at Stamford High School, he enlisted in the Naval Reserves and served for eight years, achieving the rank of Petty Officer. Skip truly loved the ocean and became an avid boater and fisherman. Skip was the founder and owner of DeBera Electric in Stamford, CT from 1965 to 1988. During this time he revolutionized the electrical marine industry by inventing “The Power Post” which enabled boats to connect to an electrical supply source while docked. This was the first premiere electrical marine pedestal designed to supply electricity to yachts at marinas. Skip also designed electrical systems for marinas world-wide and lectured extensively on marina wiring, installations and the need for code updates. In 1989, Skip and his sons established National Meter Industries, Inc. which was the first company to introduce the microprocessor based, electrical sub-meter to the US market. Seeing the ever-changing landscape of electrical metering, Skip partnered with Circutor, S.A. of Barcelona, Spain to continue to offer energy saving solutions internationally. Skip was Cubmaster of his sons’ Cub Scout Pack, an Assistant Scout Master in his sons’ Boy Scout Troop, a baseball coach and past president of both the Greenwich Adequate Wiring Association and Stamford Jaycees. He was proud to be a Catholic faith member of Opus Dei, Charter member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Knights of Columbus and member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bedford, NH. Skip was predeceased by his mother Florence “Bell” DeBeradinis, his father Anthony DeBeradinis and a brother, Richard DeBeradinis. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Jack DeBeradinis and his wife Melody; his three children: Deborah DeBeradinis – Reichheld, DDS and her husband Stephen Reichheld, DMD, Donald DeBeradinis and his wife Nancy, and Stephen DeBeradinis and his wife Lisa; his seven grandchildren and their spouses: Stephen Reichheld, DMD and his wife, Elizabeth, DMD; Timothy Reichheld, DMD and his wife, Julia Cowenhoven, MD; Alyse Reichheld; Michael DeBeradinis and his wife, Amber; Christopher DeBeradinis and his wife, Brittany; Samantha DeBeradinis, Carolyn DeBeradinis and Emily DeBeradinis, and one great granddaughter, Harper. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, New Hampshire on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH at 10:00 am.
