Linda “Lyn” Nystrom Welman, 70, resident of Milford, NH, died on December 8, 2015 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hartford, CT on March 13, 1945, a daughter of Kenneth Gaylord and Virginia (Gage) Nystrom. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from William Smith College, Geneva, NY, Class of 1967. After finishing college Lyn worked as a systems engineer for IBM for several years, spent the next 20 years raising a wonderful family, and was pleased to finish her working years at Jo-Ann Fabrics in Nashua. Lyn made her home in Milford for the past 15 years and formerly lived in Amherst, NH. Lyn’s greatest joy came from raising her children and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved baking, sewing and especially quilting. She was an avid Boston Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins fan and also liked watching the U.S. National Soccer teams. In addition, she was a member of the Happy Scrappers Quilting Guild and also enjoyed playing bridge. While Lyn’s life was not always easy, she lived it to the fullest and made the lives of those around her brighter. She had a big heart, a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed. Family members include her husband with whom she would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on December 27th, Thomas A. Welman of Milford, NH; three children, T. Adam Welman II and his wife, Kate Macneale of Seattle, WA, Sara Bragg and her husband, Jerome of Jacksonville, FL, and Jared A. Welman of Wakefield, NH; two granddaughters, Anne Welman and Jodie Welman of Seattle, WA; a sister, Joy Shelton and her husband, Jim of Orlando, FL; and two nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Milford and a gathering to celebrate Lyn’s life at the Milford Masonic Temple, 30 Mont Vernon Street, Milford, NH.
