On December 14th 2022 at 5:13 pm Linda Goinsalvos went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long two year battle with cancer. She was born in Nashua NH on May 13, 1947, daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Pickett) O’Connell. She is survived by her devoted husband Mark Goinsalvos of Wilton, her brother Timothy O’Connell of Milford, her children James Hall of Hancock, Brian Hall of Billerica MA, Christina Bierling of Pheonix AZ, Joanna Schneider of Keene, and seven grandchildren: Thomas, Meagan, William, Mikael, Henry, Emma and Abigail. She also leaves behind cousins and friends who will all miss her dearly for the wonderful person she was. She loved spending time with her family, adored her husband, her kids and grandkids, and her little dog Elvis.
Linda enjoyed playing polkas, waltzes and hymns on her accordion. Her parents bought her an accordion at an early age, her skills progressed such that she met Myron Floren from the Lawrence Welk show. She also loved to take pictures and make photo albums for her children and grandchildren, enjoyed yard sales, and church services both in person and more recently online. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice.
She loved Jesus and wanted people to find Him. Her strong faith helped support her in these difficult times. Her initial response to the cancer diagnosis was "I'm not worried because I know God is going to take care of me". She prayed for her family often and was in a Bible study group. In church she would take notes about the sermons. She was loved by her church family.
Linda wanted to help homeless and hungry people, but cancer prevented her from accomplishing much of what she wanted to do. You are invited to make donations to the Salvation Army, a food bank or to a shelter near you in honor of her name and in memory of her. She truly wanted to help the less fortunate.
Linda was happy to put others needs ahead of her own, she was a very generous and giving person. She performed innumerable acts of kindness for her children and grandchildren that shall be greatly missed and remembered for generations.
A special thank you to Southern New Hampshire Emergency Room staff and Bayada Hospice for their care and support.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 19th from 9:00-11:00am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
