Lillian C. Wiley, 98, resident of Nashua, NH, died December 15, 2009 at The Hunt Community in Nashua, NH. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 7, 1911, a daughter of the late John and Helfrida Carlson. The oldest of their four children, she was predeceased by a sister, Vivian Carlson, and two brothers, Harold and Russell Carlson. Mrs. Wiley was raised and educated in Chicago and attended the University of Chicago. Prior to moving to Nashua in 2001, she made her home in Maplewood, NJ for 50 years. Mrs. Wiley was a first generation Swede and was extremely proud of her Swedish heritage. She was also known for her kindness, warmth, elegance and dignity, and for always seeing the best in everyone. She was a member of the First Presbyterian and Trinity Church in South Orange, NJ. Mrs. Wiley was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and wonderful mother-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert B. Wiley, Jr., in 1979, and by their daughter, Joyce Wiley, in 2000. Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, R. Todd and Marianne Morse Wiley of Milford, NH; three grandsons, David, John and Paul Wiley; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Hunt Community Scholarship Fund, 10 Allds Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
