Leon Scott Phillips

Leon Scott Phillips, 51, resident of Bedford, NH and former longtime resident of Milford, NH, died January 21, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, at the V.A. Medical Center, West Roxbury, MA. Leon was a loving husband to Gayle Phillips for 31 years. A proud father to Jake Phillips of Milford, NH, loved his 7 month old granddaughter, Madison True Phillips and had a special place in his heart for Erica True of Milford, whom he considered his "daughter-in -law". He was blessed with many friends throughout the community and inspired many young friends of his son whom still call him "Dad" to this day. He inspired so many with his wisdom, thoughtfulness, humor and strength and was a Blessing to all who knew him. He was self-employed as a painting contractor in Milford, NH for many years. Leon proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Additional family members include his sister, Maureen Phillips McClellan and her husband, Mark McClellan of Bangor, ME; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mickey & Ann Burke of Florida. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dogs, Moses and Junior. Memorial visiting hours are Thursday, January 27th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 pm.
