Lawrence L. Mccabe, Jr.

Lawrence L. “Larry” McCabe, Jr., 79, resident of Milford, NH, died on March 20, 2016 at Crestwood Healthcare Center, Milford, NH surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston, MA on July 5, 1936, a son of Lawrence L. McCabe Sr. and Karna (Pederson) McCabe and was raised and educated in Dorchester, MA. He made his home in Milford, NH for the past 29 years and had formerly resided in Wakefield, MA, Burlington, MA and Revere MA. Mr. McCabe had been employed by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue as an IT operations manager for 39 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed carpentry, woodworking and tinkering around his home. Mr. McCabe was a member of the Milford Council #3035 Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club in Burlington, MA. In addition, he was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford, NH. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean War. Mr. McCabe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Loretta A. (Gamrecki) McCabe. Family members include a son and his partner; Lawrence L. McCabe III and Daphne Yew of Milford, NH; three daughters and sons-in-law, Holly O’Neill, Erin and Lawrence W. Hutchins all of Nashua, NH, Jill and Tyler Ouellette of Keene, NH; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Charles McCabe of Fort Myers, FL; two sisters, Joan Halloran of West Boylston, MA and Judith Ferrera of Framingham, MA; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Wednesday, March 23rd from 10:00am – 12:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH.
