Kenneth Paul Nelligan, a long time resident of Milford, NH, passed away at home on Sunday, September 7th, after an illness. Kenneth was born in Winsted, CT on February 21, 1926, a son of William and Catherine (Egan) Nelligan. At the age of 17, Kenneth entered the Navy in service to our country, where he served as an Electronic Technician’s Mate, 2nd Class, was selected for special training as a Radio Operator and assigned to the USS Wheatear. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy at the end of World War II, Kenneth attended Williams College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After starting his career at Sylvania, Kenneth spent more than 30 years at Sanders Associates, working on microwave radar components related to National Defense. Kenneth was at many points active in town affairs, most notably serving on the Water/ Sewer Study Committee. Kenneth enjoyed skating, skiing, hiking, swimming, flying kites at the beach, his Irish heritage, sitting on the back porch, and working outdoors ��" remaining active right up until his illness. He leaves behind his loving family ��" his wife, Lillian, daughters Kathleen, Patrice, Kathryn, and Mary, and son Ken ��" his four sons-in law- Steven, Dale, Steve, and John- and one daughter-in law, Sue - ten grandchildren- Jeffrey, Stephanie, Jennifer, Nicole, David, Aaron, Melinda, Colby, Megan, and Johnny, and two great-grandchildren, Brendan and Andrew. Kenneth is also survived by his sister Catherine, his brother William, and several nephews and nieces. A private burial service will take place on Wednesday, September 10th. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the natural world around you, something that brought joy to Kenneth on a daily basis.
