Kenneth A. Byrd

Kenneth A. “Jake” Byrd, 80, resident of Hudson, NH, died June 15, 2011 at his home. He was born in Milford, NH on September 21, 1930, a son of Watson and Lura (Maxwell) Byrd. Mr. Byrd was raised and educated in Milford where he lived for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed for Quinn Brothers Concrete Company, Amherst, for many years and had formerly worked for Seward Construction Company, Kittery, Maine. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was their number one fan. In addition, he enjoyed baseball and was a passionate New York Yankees Fan. Mr. Byrd was a U. S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. In addition, he was a 60 year member of Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23, American Legion, Milford. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas K. Byrd. Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis W. Byrd of Newport Richey, FL, Randy and Andrea Byrd of Londonderry, NH; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 20th at 7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford.
