Kellene Ann McMahon (Tracy), resident of Milford, NH, died on May 18, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.


Kelly was born July 2, 1954, in Minneapolis, MN to Bert and Johanna (Hefferan) Tracy. Growing up in a large family in Minnetonka, MN, her home was always full of family and friends. Her family spent much of their summers at their lake cabin on Ossawinnamakee Lake.


Kelly graduated from Hopkins Eisenhower High School of Hopkins, MN in 1972. She then earned a Bachelor of History from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. She was employed by Home Insurance Company in legal collections and was transferred to a position in NH, where she met her husband, Andrew A. McMahon, in the Spring of 1985.


Kelly was a devoted and loving mother of two boys, Chris and Mike. She enjoyed hiking, reading, camping, gardening, and socializing with friends. She loved traveling and did so often with her family, including visiting all 50 States and enjoying many National Parks. Kelly was a lifelong learner. When her kids were teenagers, she earned her Master of Education from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. She was a dedicated, compassionate Special Education teacher for Boynton Middle School in New Ipswich, NH and then, for Mountain View Middle School in Goffstown, NH. When visiting National Parks, she would collect Jr. Ranger Program packets to share with her students. Kelly enjoyed history and would often research many of the places she visited.


When Kelly retired, she substitute taught for the Milford School District, NH as needed. Kelly, also, continued to travel and go camping with her husband, including a two-week Alaskan Cruise.


Kelly is survived by her husband, Andrew; her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher J. & Kristine of Shakopee, MN and Michael T. & Caitlyn of Mankato, MN; seven grandsons, William, Henry, Francis, Acius, Johnathan, Robert, and Michael A.; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Catherine; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bert and Laura of Wyoming, MN and Todd and Maria of Belle Plaine, MN; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Tracy of Brainerd, MN and Katie and Joe Nickele of Chicago, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family and friends.


Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Merrimack Rd., Amherst, NH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kelly to Home, Health, and Hospice Care of Merrimack, NH.
