Born May 22, 1939, the daughter of the late Demetrio and Mary (Wahula) Caruso, Kathy was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York. Her life was forever changed May 2, 1955, during a chance encounter at a candy store, where she met the love of her life, Jack Esposito. Kathy and Jack married on December 26th, 1959, and were married nearly 65 years.

They began their lives together in Worcester, Massachusetts until Jack graduated Holy Cross in 1960. Kathy traveled with him through his years in the Air Force, while they started their family. After settling for some time in Stony Brook, New York, Kathy and Jack realized their dream of a quieter way of life and moved their young family to Mont Vernon in 1972.

While raising her four children, Kathy was involved with nearly all fundraisers and bake sales, supporting her children’s schools and sports teams. For many years, Kathy was a cheerleading coach, and it was known by all that she adored and supported her cheerleaders. In addition to family life, Kathy made a life at church with memberships to include Rosary Altar Society, the Columbiettes and Union Church Fair. She also served the church as a CCD teacher. Kathy was most proud of her work for Catholic Charities, where she was a foster parent to over 30 newborn babies, ultimately leading her to her most precious gift from this work, her youngest daughter, Kristen Megan. Kathy’s legacy of supportive wife and mother continued through her unwavering support of her grandchildren, following their sports and activities. She loved any opportunity to cook, especially for family gatherings where her famous Christmas cookies were enjoyed by all.
