June E. Rollins

June E. Rollins, 87, resident of Amherst, NH, died on December 9, 2014 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. She was born in Everett, MA on June 25, 1927, a daughter of Roland and Esther (Pryhoda) Swan. She was raised and educated in Wakefield, MA and graduated from Wakefield High School. In her early 20’s she modeled for John Powers Modeling Agency in Boston, MA. She had spent much of her youth along the Maine coast, which she held in a very special place in her heart. This love for the rocky coast continued throughout her life with numerous trips she enjoyed with her family. She was an amazingly selfless spirit; gentle, caring, genuine and always putting everyone else first. She always had time to lend an ear with understanding and compassion, was supportive, and a loving, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Kelly; her first husband, Donald MacDonald and her second husband, Dexter L. Rollins. Family members include two sons, Colin MacDonald of Jericho, VT and Stevin MacDonald of Smithfield, VA; three daughters, Laurie MacDonald Schroeder of Williston, VT, Heidi Blake of Amherst, NH with whom she made her home and Heather Niebel of Hollis, NH; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Stuart Swan of Wellesley, MA; a sister, Marilyn Faber of Falmouth, MA; several nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 14th from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by a service at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Souhegan Valley Rides Bus Service, c/o Nashua Regional Planning Commission (their fiscal agent), 9 Executive Park Drive, Suite 201, Merrimack, NH 03054 (checks should be made payable to Nashua Regional Planning Commission and please indicate SVTC in the memo line).
