Joseph L. "Gerry" Niquette

Joseph L. “Gerry” Niquette, 80, a longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on October 2, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Nashua, NH, on August 14, 1938, the son of Aristide and Rita (Hudon) Niquette. He was raised and educated in Nashua, NH, and graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1956. He made his home in Milford for the past 30 years and was formerly a resident of Hollis, NH, where he raised his three youngest children, for many years. Gerry had been employed as a welder all of his working life. He began his 40-year career with Ingersoll-Rand’s IMPCO Pulp Machinery Division and remained loyal to the company through his retirement from Beloit. He loved working around his home, especially in the yard and garden. In addition, he enjoyed wood carving and metal work. He was also a collector of finely crafted pipes. He was a loving husband and a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Gerry was an uncomplicated man who truly felt like he was the luckiest man in the world, with the best of everything. Gerry was a U.S. Army Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1962 with the rank of SP4. Family members include his wife, Carolann “Carol” (Roberge) Niquette of Milford; five children, Cynthia Pelletier of NH, Marc Niquette of Nashua, NH, Mark and René Niquette of Pinellas Park, FL, Ronald and Angi Niquette of St. Petersburg, FL, and Diana Niquette of Hollis, NH; four stepchildren, Timothy and Jill Weckwerth of Westborough, MA, Michele and Greg Bricker of Mooresville, NC, Heidi and Michael Theriault of Milford, NH, and Holly and John Fahey of Concord, NC; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister, JoAnn McKenzie of Hudson, NH. There are no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 9th at 10:00am at St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial with Military honors will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua.
