Joseph J. Urban

Joseph J. Urban, 77, resident of Amherst, NH, died on January 4, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his loving wife and dear friends. He was born in Somerville, MA on June 11, 1937, the only child of Joseph P. and Helen (Keiza) Urbanowicz. Joe was raised and educated in Cambridge, MA and graduated from Amherst College. He made his home in Amherst for the past 37 years. Joe had worked for Sanders Associates as an electronic engineer and later for Digital Equipment Corporation as a project manager. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a lifetime member of Greeley-Parmenter-Harrington Post #27, American Legion, Londonderry, NH. Family members include his wife, Rose (Mil) Urban of Amherst; his sister-in-law, Fidela A. Mil, also of Amherst; his very dear friends, Bob Peterson, Patricia Worthen, Elvie Kersey, Rico, Ronnie and Lori. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH at a later date.
