John R. Brougham, 64, resident of Amherst, NH passed away on January 8, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. � He was born in Ridley Park, PA on September 13, 1943 the son of the late Alexander W. & Ella (Robinson) Brougham. � Mr. Brougham was a resident of Amherst and Mont Vernon, NH for most of his life. � He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1961.�� An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Mont Vernon Fish & Game.�� In addition, he was a former member of the Milford Lions Club. He had worked as a part time police officer for the towns of Amherst & Mont Vernon and was a member of the Mont Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. � In his earlier years, he had been employed for A.W. Brougham Corporation. For many years he was the owner of J.B. Welding in Amherst and more recently had worked for Chappell Tractor in Milford. � Mr. Brougham was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. � He was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Brougham Mitchell and a brother, Alexander W. Brougham Jr. � Family members include his wife of 34 years, Sandra (Hall) Brougham of Amherst, NH; 2 daughters, Jessie E. Brougham of Greenville, NH and Sarah R. Brougham of Amherst, NH; a granddaughter, Morgan Mitchell of Florida; many nieces and nephews. � There are no calling hours. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, January 11th from 3-7 pm at the home of June & Chet Hall, 126 Hollis Road, Amherst, NH.�In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home, Health & Hospice Care, 22 Prospect Street, Nashua, NH�03060.��
