John M. Henderson

John M. Henderson, 79, resident of Milford, NH, died on October 21, 2013 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH. He was born in Kansas City, MO on February 18, 1934, the son of Carl and Helen (Becker) Henderson. Mr. Henderson graduated from Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, MO. He was a history teacher and taught at Truman High School for 28 years, where he had served as chair of the history department. After teaching, he embarked on his second career as a licensed funeral director and was employed by Floral Hills Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO. He resided in New Hampshire for the past 20 years having lived in Warren, Sandwich and more recently in Milford and formerly made his home in Independence, MO for almost 40 years. He enjoyed genealogy, hiking and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Mr. Henderson was a U.S Army veteran of the Korean War. He was predeceased by his son, Mark Alan Henderson. Family members include his loving wife of 56 years, Terrill A “Terri” Henderson of Milford, NH; a grandson, Asher Henderson of Milford, NH; a daughter-in-law, Carin Henderson of Cleveland, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
