Mr. Russell had been employed by General Electric for more than 35 years as a financial auditor. He loved New England, and chose to make this region his lifelong home, except for a brief time in New York State. While living there he served on the Residence Committee, and participated in the Gourmet Club where members had the chance to prepare special meals for the group. John was a card player, always looking for a game of bridge or cribbage, and if he could make a penny from you he was content. He and his wife Beverlee loved to travel after his retirement, visiting vineyards in France and attending operas in Vienna. Classical music brought many hours of enjoyment to both of them. Mr. Russell was a U.S. Navy Sea Bee veteran having served on Guam in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverlee (Wilhelm) Russell and sister Charlotte Clark. .
