John F. Hyde, Jr.

John F. “Jack” Hyde, Jr., 64, resident of Wilton, NH, died November 29, 2011 at Concord Hospital, Concord, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nashua, NH, on January 13, 1947, a son of John F. Hyde, Sr. and Muriel (Scott) Hyde. Jack resided in Wilton for several years and formerly lived in Mont Vernon, NH and Amherst, NH for many years. He had been employed as a police officer for the Towns of Wilton and Mont Vernon, NH and had also served as Chief of Police in Lyndeborough, NH. He continued his service to the community as an EMT with the Wilton Lyndeborough Ambulance. In addition, Jack owned and operated a small engine repair business for many years. He loved hunting, fishing and taking trips to the beach. Jack was predeceased by his parents and his twin sister, Kathleen Hyde. Family members include his wife of 28 years, Debra A. (True) Hyde of Wilton, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle A. and Andrew P. Drobat of Amherst, NH, Jackie L. and Brian Smith of Lyndeborough, NH; two sons, John F. Hyde, III and his partner, Lori Fredette of Lyndeborough, NH, Jared E. Hyde of Wilton, NH; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Earle and his wife, Megan, Hannah Earle, Ryleigh Smith, Madilynn Smith, Danielle Drobat, Levi Hyde and Arianna Black; a great grandson, Matthew Earle; four stepchildren, Joel Smith of WI, Eric Smith of WA, Becky Pellerin and Heather Ayers, both of Francestown, NH; a brother, George Hyde of Rochester, NH; four sisters, Ruth Lambert of Peterborough, NH, Joan Hyde and Mary Leavitt, both of Lyndeborough, NH, Annie Amlaw of Keene, NH; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Friday, December 2nd from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Wilton Lyndeborough Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 584, Wilton, NH 03086.
