Joan E. Olsen

Joan E. Olsen, 89, resident of Amherst, NH died on September 26, 2020 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH. She was born in Hempstead, NY on February 4, 1931, a daughter of Andrew J. and Dora E. (Street) Schultz. She made her home in Amherst for the past 40 years and formerly lived in Warwick, NY. Mrs. Olsen was devoted to her husband and his ministry. As a Pastor’s wife, she worked alongside him, ministering to seniors and was also a great communicator when it came to children. She was a selfless person whose family meant the world to her. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she always cherished time spent together. Mrs. Olsen was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Arthur Kenneth Olsen, who died in 2003. Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Carol Olsen of Francestown, NH; her daughter and son-in-law with whom she made her home, Karen and Benjamin Jager of Amherst, NH; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Sandy Crow of FL, William & Lennie Leitz of FL; a sister, Myrna Boston of FL; a sister-in-law, Doris E. Olsen, Goffstown, NH; a brother-in-law, Rev. Arnold Olsen; many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 1:00pm in Meadowview Cemetery, Foundry Street, Amherst, NH. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on October 10th at 1 Cross Road, Francestown, NH 03043. Those attending are asked to adhere to current guidelines by wearing a mask and observing social distancing.
