Jeffrey (Buckwheat) J. Richardson, 58, lifelong resident of Milford, NH died at his home on Sunday, April 29, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in Nashua, NH on September 4, 1953, a son of the late John A. and Catherine E. (Cassidy) Richardson. Jeff was raised and educated in Milford. He had been employed as lead custodian for the Milford Middle School for 18 years and had also worked for Leighton White Company and John A. Richardson & Sons. In his earlier years, he played softball for the McCormack Cleanouts and the Milford Gentlemen. He was an avid pitch player, enjoyed horseshoes, ice fishing, deep sea fishing, puttering around his yard and chatting or lending a helping hand to his neighbors. He loved vacationing at York Beach, Maine and sitting on the deck at Mimmo’s overlooking Long Sands. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was well known as a “prankster”. Family members include his wife of 35 years, Barbara (Igo) Richardson; his daughter, Kate C. Richardson, both of Milford; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Jim Kennedy of Wilton, NH, Kathy and Jim Gibbons of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Valerie Richardson of Amherst, NH; many nieces and nephews; several aunts and many cousins. The family would like to thank Jeff’s dear friend, Doug Rebidue; his nurse, Laura and the Milford School District for their unending support and compassion during this difficult time. Memorial visiting hours will be held on May 12th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Home Health and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
