Jeffrey D. Dougherty

Jeffrey D. Dougherty, 41, passed away on April 30, 2017. He was born in Calais, ME on February 16, 1976, a son of Janet (Reed) Grout and John Dougherty. Also Jeff’s stepfather, David Grout, who played a big part in his adult life showing love and guidance. Jeff struggled from many health issues from a young age, yet continuously found the strength to persevere through those hard times. He had a unique and funny side, and enjoyed sharing his sense of humor with others. His loves in life were riding his Harley and being with his family. Generous with his heart, it swelled with pride when talking about his daughter, Christianna Dougherty and his son, Connor McLaughlin. Most recently his grandson, Logan Dougherty, was the light of his life, spending quality time and striving to be the best grandfather he could be for him. Jeff is also survived by his brother, Shaun Dougherty of Brookline, NH and his wife, Lindsey along with their children, Savannah, Auston, Leo, Jackson and Ava; a step brother, Dave Grout Jr. of Montague, MA and his wife, Maureen, along with their two children, Cosette and Lily; two step sisters, Devon Grout of Swanzey, NH and Dyane Grout of Winchester, NH; a half-brother, Michael Dougherty and a half-sister, Sonia Dougherty, both living in Canada; his grandmother, Bernice Dougherty also from Canada. On his mother’s side, a very special Uncle, Larry Reed from Greenville, who he liked to ride with and his Aunt, Ashley Bosse and family from Canada. Many other people including aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends completed his life. Predeceased by his grandfather, David Reed; grandmother, Virginia Reed; and sister-in-law, Missy Dougherty, who are welcoming him now in Heaven. Visiting hours are on Friday, May 5th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m.
