Jean N. Dutton Chase

Jean Norma Dutton Chase, 84, longtime resident of Merrimack, NH, died on January 2, 2018 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester, NH surrounded by her family. She was born in Milford, NH on February 24, 1933, a daughter of Norman and Juliette (Bellemore) Dutton. She was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School. Prior to moving to Manchester several years ago, she made her home in Merrimack, NH for 25 years and Mont Vernon NH for many years. Mrs. Chase had been employed by Hitchiner Manufacturing Company in Milford, for more than 30 years. She enjoyed animals, working in her flower gardens and most especially loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Chase; a sister and brother-in-law, Doreen and Russell Philbrick; and her longtime companion, Charles Hebert. Family members include her six daughters, Deborah J. Brooks of Naples, FL, Denise Fontaine of Londonderry, NH, Donna Cobb of Greenland, NH and Ft. Myers, FL, Diane Finkle of Bedford, NH, Lauren Materkowski of Merrimack, NH and Cindy Veisinkops of Milford, NH; eight grandchildren, Scott and Aaron Jowders, Joseph Foistner, Jamie and Justin Hernandez, Nicholas Veisinkops, Jordan and Alex Materkowski; three great grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina and Scott Jowders; and a sister, Sandra Staiti of Milford, NH. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, January 6th from 9:30-10:30am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by funeral services at 10:30am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
