Jean F. Mammola, 80, longtime resident of Milford, New Hampshire, died on May 22, 2009 at Crestwood Care & Rehabilitation Center, Milford. She was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on August 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph & Marion (Jackson) Doherty and was raised in Boston�s Back Bay. She was a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Class of 1944, Dorchester, Massachusetts and later graduated from Burroughs Business School, Boston, Massachusetts. Mrs. Mammola made her home in Milford for more than 42 years and had formerly lived in Belmont, Massachusetts. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Susse Chalet�s Corporate Office in Wilton, New Hampshire for more than 10 years. While residing in Massachusetts, she had worked at Reiss Associates in Lowell, Massachusetts for many years. Mrs. Mammola was active on the Board of Director�s of Southern NH Services and as a Head Start Delegate. In addition, she was a former Vice President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Massachusetts. She was a communicant of St. Patrick�s Church, Milford. She cherished time spent with her family and was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. Mrs. Mammola was predeceased by her husband, Saverio Joseph Mammola and their daughter, Patrice Mammola Gaskill. Family members include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline & Timothy Merrill of Milford, New Hampshire, with whom she made her home, Jean M. Mammola of Milford, New Hampshire, Beth Ann & Charlie Koravos of Dracut, Massachusetts; a step daughter, Annie Breslin of Arlington, Massachusetts; 11 Grandchildren, Katie, Heather, Jillian and Kyle Merrill, Danielle, Joel and Hannah Soucy, Allison, Alexandria and Olivia Koravos and Michael Breslin. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 26th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 am in St. Patrick�s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH.
