Jane E. Backhaus

Jane E. Backhaus, 90, longtime resident of Milford, died September 23, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by her family. She was born in Nashua, NH on May 29, 1924, a daughter of John and Juliette (Tonella) Lemery. Mrs. Backhaus was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School. She was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, tole painting and her daily walks. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Backhaus and her brother, John W. Lemery, Jr. Family members include a sister-in-law, Harriet Lemery of Nashua, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
