James J. Gray

James J. Gray, longtime resident of Hollis, NH, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2015 at Pheasant Wood Center, in Peterborough, NH. He was born and raised in Lowell, MA, to the late Patrick and Yvonne Gray. Barbara M. (Creighton) Gray, longtime resident of Hollis, NH, passed away peacefully, after a long and valiant battle with lung cancer, on Aug. 6, 2015 at Colonial Health and Rehab, in Plainfield, CT. She was born in Springfield, NH, to the late Winfred and Beatrice (Wheeler) Creighton. James and Barbara were married on July 6, 1949 and eventually settled in Hollis, NH, where they made their home for the last 57 years. James owned and operated West Hollis Cut Evergreens, a florist supply company, for more than 30 years. Barbara retired from Bemis Bag Co; in Pepperell, MA, where she was a Supervisor for many years. She was a member of the Bemis 20-Year Club and had worked there for over 25 years. She then helped run the Evergreen business with her husband until he retired. When they weren’t working they enjoyed many years at Lake Winnipesaukee on their boat and camping at their cabin with family and friends. In their earlier years they loved riding on his motorcycle and snowmobiling. They were devoted and loving parents, grand-parents, aunt and uncle to their extensive family. Members include their daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Gray) and John Walsh of Danielson, CT; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Janice ( Riff ) Gray of Hollis, NH; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, including Thomas and Donna Agrella of Pelham, NH. Other immediate family includes Barbara’s three sisters, Sally (Creighton) and her husband David Tillman of Westfield, MA, Sandra (Creighton) Amadon of Gardiner, ME, and Gail (Creighton) and her husband Willie Sandberg of Parkman, ME, two sister-in-laws; Caroline (Searles) Creighton, and Annette (Trempe) Creighton both of Milford, NH, one brother-in-law Clyde (Skip) Cilley of Francistown, NH and their families. James’ is survived by several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Main Street, Brookline, NH.
