Jack R. Fedas, Sr., 80, resident of Amherst, NH, died on April 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Peabody, MA on October 13, 1934, a son of Arthur Fedas and Annie (Crosley) Fedas. He was raised and educated in Danvers, MA and graduated from Holten High School, Class of 1953. Jack made his home in Amherst for the past 50 years. Jack had worked in his family business at AJA Finishing Company in Danvers, MA. After moving to Amherst, he owned and operated the Exxon gas station on the Milford Oval in the 1970’s. He later founded Souhegan Septic Service in 1978 and retired from the business in 1991. He was an avid outdoorsman and a longtime fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots. Jack enjoyed word search, puzzles and watching John Wayne movies. In addition, he loved to visit Salem Willows Park in Salem, MA. Jack was a member of the Masonic Temple of Salem, MA, a Charter member of the Amherst Lions Club and past president of the Amherst Jaycees. He served in the U.S. Army. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Fedas and Annie Fedas Bohonan; and a brother, Arthur Fedas. Family members include the love of his life, Carole (Sullivan) Fedas of Amherst, NH with whom he shared 58 years of marriage; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack R. Fedas, Jr. and Lynn Fedas of Amherst, NH, Scott Fedas, Sr. of Milford, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Matt Conley of Amherst, NH; five grandchildren, Nicholas Fedas and his wife Susan of Pepperell, MA, Katelyn Fedas of Amherst, NH, Scott Fedas, Jr. of Mont Vernon, NH, Erin Fedas of Nashua, NH and Ashley Conley of Amherst, NH; two great grandchildren, Tinsley Fedas and Dustin Fedas; a sister-in-law, Barbara Fedas of Warner, NH; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Monday, April 20th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Amherst Lions Club, P.O. Box 1105, Amherst, NH 03031 or to the charity of one’s choice.
