Isabel Reynolds, 71 of New Boston, NH, died in her home May 2, 2015 after a gallant 10 year battle with breast cancer. She spent her last days surrounded by her family and friends. She was born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and was proud to call that home. She moved to the United States as a young adult, married and raised her three children. She later re-married and settled in New Boston, NH where she lived happily for over 30 years. Born Isabel Gillis, she is preceded in death by her parents - Archibald John Gillis and Elizabeth MacNeil Gillis MacLellan, two brothers - Blaise and Neil, and a son Andrew. She is survived by loving husband of 29 years, Donald Reynolds, two daughters Tammy D’Urso of Methuen, MA and Danielle Perdikes of Weare, NH, a son Archie Blondin of Norton, MA, and four grandchildren - Alexia, Nicholas, Madison, and Natalie. She is also survived by three siblings - Joe Gillis, Duncan Alexander Gillis, and Annette Currie, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends. As a young adult Isabel proudly stayed home and raised her young children. In 1989 , she opened Little Darlings Daycare in her home and continued to care for children through 2005. During this time, Isabel earned a certificate in Early Childhood Development at Hesser College, the College for Lifelong Learning, and continued her professional development through the NH Family Child Care Association, now part of Early Learning New Hampshire. In 2003, she was the recipient of the Providian Excellence in Child Care award presented to her by then Governor Benson at the Tucker Library in Concord, NH. In addition to her love of children, Isabel enjoyed her time with friends, biking with her husband, reading, and listening to Scottish and Cape Breton music. She was also well-known for her love of gardening. Memorial visiting hours are on Thursday, May 7th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.
