Irene W. Brousseau, 100, resident of Milford, NH died on July 4, 2013 at Ledgewood Bay in Milford. She was born in North Dighton, MA on May 5, 1913, a daughter of William and Catherine (Collins) Walker. Mrs. Brousseau lived in Milford for a short time and formerly made her home in Westport, MA for over 50 years. She was an elementary school teacher in Rehoboth, MA and Lincoln, RI for more than 20 years and a member of the Teachers’ Sorority ADK. Mrs. Brousseau was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and loved being on the Westport River and especially liked clamming. She and her late husband formed the Second Thursday Club, a dinner meeting for seniors. Mrs. Brousseau was a member of the Smith Mills Christian Congregational Church, UCC, Dartmouth, MA and had been a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Smithfield, RI. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Brousseau; and a son, William E. Brousseau. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law Peter T. & Elizabeth Brousseau of Raymond, ME; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Bruce and David Bradway of Amherst, NH; five grandchildren, Wendy DePuy and her husband, Dean Brammer of Amherst, NH, Thomas DePuy of Manchester, NH, Raymond Brousseau of Wilmington, NC, William Brousseau of Raymond, ME and Will Brousseau of Milbury, MA; three great grandchildren; a sister, Ida Liston of Narragansett, RI; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 21st at 12:30 pm in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport, MA.
