Henry W. Ward, 89, resident of Randolph, Vermont, died on May 18, 2015 at Menig Extended Care in Randolph. He was born in Needham, Massachusetts, on July 7, 1925, son of Melvin E. & Blanche (Fleming) Ward of Needham, Massachusetts. Mr. Ward moved to Menig Extended Care in Randolph, Vermont in November 2013, and formerly made his home in Milford, New Hampshire and Nashua, New Hampshire for several years. Henry was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran, serving off the New Guinea Coast and Southern Philippines during World War II. Mr. Ward is a graduate of Boston University, where he earned a Business Degree. Employed as an accountant most of his working years, working at NH Ball Bearing in Peterborough, New Hampshire, Haywards Trading Post in Milford, NH and at Raytheon Company in Andover, Massachusetts until his retirement. Mr. Ward is predeceased by his six siblings, Melvin Ward of Florida, Eugene Ward of Boston, MA, Barbara (Ward) Scotton, Blanche (Ward) Pilkington, Ruth (Ward) Stitt and Jane (Ward) French of Needham Massachusetts. Also predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Therese (Maloney) Ward of Walpole, Massachusetts, his granddaughter, Andrea Walsh Heath of Randolph, Vermont, and his daughter-in-law Monica (Holahan) Ward of Hampstead, New Hampshire. He was a loving and devoted father to three daughters, Therese (Ward) Heath of Randolph, Vermont, Mary E. Ward of Shirley, Massachusetts, and April Ward Pratt of Newmarket, NH; three sons, Raymond E. Ward of Fairfield, Iowa, Thomas Henry Ward of Orlando, Florida and John F. Ward of Hampstead, New Hampshire. Loving Grandfather of 12 Grandchildren, and 8 Great- Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Henry enjoyed coin and art collecting, race horses, and reading anything to do with American and World History. Henry also volunteered for Nashua Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Menig Extended Care Unit c/o Gifford Medical Center, 44 South Main Street, Randolph, VT 05060. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Milford United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford, NH. The Ward Family invites you to join them following the service for a remembrance gathering at the church.
