Henry Hank Manoogian 89, resident of Buckridge Drive, Amherst, NH died January 31, 2008 at his home. � He was born in Symara, Russia on August 27, 1918 and immigrated with his family to Salem, NH the following year. � He earned his B.S. Degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University. At the start of WWII, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany in General Patton's division. Upon returning to the United States, he worked for the Naval Air Development Center in Boston and was transferred to their branch in Johnsville, PA where he was Program Director for the design and development of relay transmitters for aircraft early warning applications. While in Johnsville, he was recruited by Sanders Associates, Nashua, NH, where he worked until his retirement in 1982. During his employment at Sanders he traveled around the world with Naval Officers to check his equipment installed at various Naval bases. � Mr. Manoogian has been a resident of Amherst for 38 years and had served as a selectman for two terms and chairman during his second term. He was a member of the Milford/Amherst Rotary Club and had received the Paul Harris Fellow Award.�He was also President of Compatriotic Union of Habousi; a 32nd Degree Mason-Blue Lodge; a Shriner; and member of the Manchester Country Club.�He had been a member of the Ararat Armenian Congregational Church in Salem, NH, 4-H Club, Boy Scouts of America, American Defense Preparedness Association as regional VP for the Yankee Chapter, Board of Director for Souhegan Valley Association for the Handicapped, Institute of Electric Engineer, Doylestown, PA Country Club, Nashua Country Club, Milford-Amherst Booster Club and the Amherst Town Budget Committee. � He enjoyed vacationing with his family at Lake Winnisquam in the summer and Bonita Springs, FL in the winter.�Beyond his family, his passion in life was golf.�He also enjoyed gardening, taking money from his poker buddies, dancing with his bride, and fostering the truths of the Armenian Genocide history and its culture. � � � � Family members include his wife of 60 years, Marion (Garoian) Manoogian of Amherst; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Candice and David Arleo of Northport, NY, Debra Manoogian of Los Angeles, CA, Holly Manoogian of Brookfield, NH, Wendy and Jules Brayman of Amherst, NH, MaryAnn Manoogian of Concord, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cynthia Manoogian of Amherst, NH; nine grandchildren, Peter Arleo, Sarah Gosselin, Alex Manoogian, Tyler Manoogian, Leah Brayman, Rachel Brayman, Melanie Brayman, Jackson Brayman, Mikael Manoogian; one great-grandchild, Emily Gosselin; a sister, Agnes David of Burlington, MA; a sister-in-law, Queenie Holmberg of Canton, MA; two nieces and two nephews. � Visiting hours are Monday February 4th from 4-7 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.�A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 pm.�Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Ararat Armenian Congregational Church, 2 Salem Street, Salem, NH.�Burial will be in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring.�Donations in his memory may be made to the Milford Rotary Club, P.O.
