Helen R. Scarzello

Helen R. Scarzello, 94, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on February 11, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on July 7, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Charlie Yuodaitis and Alexandria (Gadlauskas) Yuodaitis. Helen was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York. 

Helen had worked alongside her husband Leo where they owned and operated Leo Scarzello & Associates. 

Helen was a worldwide traveler, who loved embroidery and playing cards. (More often than not, she had the winning hand!) 

She was predeceased by her husband, Leo A. Scarzello; three sons, James Scarzello, Thomas Scarzello, Peter Scarzello and her grandson, Richard Louis Scarzello. 

Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara Scarzello of Highland Mills, NY; a son, Steven Scarzello of Haverhill, MA; a grandson, Tony and his wife Daisy Scarzello of Middlesex, VT; three greatgrandchildren, Luciana, Vitalia and Evalina. 

Helen will be fondly remembered for hosting countless family gatherings both in NH and VT. One of her favorites being the large 4th of July fireworks event in Mount Holly, VT where all were welcome. 

Helen loved all of God’s creatures and they all loved her! She will be greatly missed. 

There will be a celebration of life at the family home in VT, date to be determined.
