Helen S. Davis, 95, resident of Temple, NH, died May 2, 2010 in Manchester, NH. She was born in Joplin, MO on September 2, 1914, a daughter of the late George W. and Adelaide (Riggs) Saathoff. Mrs. Davis was raised in Summit, NJ, graduated from Wellesley College, Class of 1935 and spent her junior year abroad in Germany. She resided in Lexington, MA, for many years and later made her home in Temple, NH. Mrs. Davis won many awards for her floral designs. She was president of both Massachusetts and New Hampshire State Garden Clubs; member of the Massachusetts Senate Art Committee and member of the New Hampshire Governors Lilac and Wildflower Commission. She was past president of PEO for Massachusetts and currently a member of Chapter F in New Hampshire. She was also known for her interest in antique homes, especially her residence in Temple, NH. She worked as a real estate agent for DeWolfe Real Estate, Amherst, NH. Mrs. Davis was predeceased by her husband, Ralph H. Davis. Family members include her daughter, Wendy R. Davis of Amherst, NH; a son, Robert Davis of Exeter, NH; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 10th at 10:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham, NJ at a later date.
