Helen M. Sorrentino

Helen M. Sorrentino, 92, resident of Milford, NH, died March 10, 2011 at The Elms Care and Rehabilitation Center, Milford. She was born in Newark, NJ on July 13, 1918, a daughter of Bertram and Mary (McDonald) Rothacker. Mrs. Sorrentino resided in Milford for the past three years and formerly lived in Inverness, Florida for more than 25 years and Long Island, NY for many years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her family and was lovingly called “GG” by her great grandchildren. Mrs. Sorrentino was predeceased by her husband, Santo F. Sorrentino, who died in 1989. Family members include two daughters, Josephine Ray of Amherst, NH, Jacqueline Hornecker and her husband, Martin of New Fairfield, CT; a son, Vincent Sorrentino of Harrisburg, PA; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Betsch of Pinedale, WY; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Sunday, March 13th from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 2:30 pm in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
