Harry R. Murray, 66, resident of Hollis, NH, died July 5, 2009 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. He was born in Cambridge, MA on May 3, 1943, a son of the late Edward and Estelle (Cameron) Murray. Mr. Murray was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1962. He earned his bachelor�s degree in Physics from the University of New Hampshire and his masters degree from the University of Connecticut. He resided in Hollis for a short time and formerly lived in Amherst, NH for 15 years and Francestown, NH for 10 years. Mr. Murray had been employed as a Senior Performance Software Engineer for IBM in Westford, MA. He was a New Hampshire Land Surveyor and a wetland scientist for over 30 years. In addition, he was the owner of Hillsborough County Land Surveying. He was an avid sailor and had his own sailboat �Patricia Jane� in Marion, MA. He had a great passion for conservation work and enjoyed all types of science. Mr. Murray was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Era Veteran having served from 1966-1972 as a pilot on the U.S. Intrepid and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant. He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Murray. Family members include his wife, Patricia A. (Riley) Murray of Hollis, NH; two daughters, Sarah Meghan Murray of Hollis, NH, Holly L. Rivard and her husband, Eric of Goffstown, NH; a son, Luke Riley Murray of Manchester, NH; two grandchildren, Dylan Rivard and Kyle Rivard; two sisters, Susan Lemire and her husband, Ray of New Boston, NH, Heidi Horne and her husband, Dan of Pembroke, NH; several nieces. Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 8th from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Francestown Conservation Commission, Town Office Building, Main Street, Francestown, NH 03043.
