Harry L. "Blaine" Johnson, Jr.

Harry Lenox “Blaine” Johnson Jr, 74, of Milford, NH passed away on Wednesday June 26th at Southern New Hampshire Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Rita Johnson with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage.

Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, he was the son of Harry Sr and Lucille Johnson. Blaine graduated from Don Bosco Technical High School, Class of 1969. He continued his education at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying architectural design.

Blaine worked with his father, who owned Johnson & Sons doing contracting work on homes. The family moved to Milford, NH in April 1971 from Medford, MA and shortly after the business was renamed Starch Hill Restoration. Upon his father's death in 1994, Blaine took over the business and continued as a contractor for almost an additional 30 years.

When Blaine wasn’t working to support his family, he volunteered his time coaching youth baseball, soccer, softball and basketball. Blaine was someone that everyone loved and respected. He was a man that could be counted on for anything at any time. If you ever met Blaine, you wanted to be his friend. He was kind and was always interested in what you had to say.

Besides his wife Rita, he is survived by his daughters, Rachelle Johnson and her husband Ernie Tocci, Alysha Johnson, Keirra Johnson and his son Dana Johnson and his wife Lisa all of Milford, his brothers, Neil Johnson and his husband Bradley of Nashua, Kirk Johnson of Nashua, Daryn Johnson and his wife Pamela of Amherst and his sister Lisa Jones and her husband Darrick of Milford as well as Craig and Scott Frye. He is also survived and cherished by his beloved grandchildren Camryn Johnson and her significant other Derek Capone, Kassidy Tocci, Audrey Johnson and DJ Johnson as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

Memorial visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 9th from 4:00-8:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 10:00am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home.
