Harold W. Cooley, 87, resident of Milford, died on May 8, 2015 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Antrim, NH on September 20, 1927, a son of Dennis W. and Eva M. (Marson) Cooley. Harold moved to Milford in the early 1940’s and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1946. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he was employed as a machinist for Hitchiner Manufacturing Company in Milford for 28 years. In addition, he owned Cooley Radio & TV Service. He enjoyed working outside, tinkering in his workshop, spending time with his family and loved a good cup of coffee. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and roller skating at the Bedford Grove where he met his wife. Mr. Cooley was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. He was predeceased by a sister, Ialeen Putnam; two brothers, Richard Cooley and Cedric Cooley. Family members include his wife, Helen E. (Daigle) Cooley of Milford with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 22nd; two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane H. and William Fuller of Milford and Denise P. French of Bennington, NH; six grandchildren, Tracey Auger, Travis Fuller, Brett French, Kristie LaPlante, Brian French and Brandon French; eight great grandchildren, Caleb, Lauren, Oliver, Lindsay, Chelsea, Ashley, Hailey and Larisa; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Richard Bruce of Winchester, NH; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. A visiting hour will be held on Tuesday, May 12th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Antrim, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care, Community Hospice House, Attn: Development, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
